Inspiring the Next Generation: Student Satellite Project Presented at Planning Commission, Pakistan.
Dr. M. Kamran Saleem, Founder of the Space Research Center (SRC-UCP) and the principal investigator of the student satellite project funded by the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Pakistan, recently showcased significant progress in a presentation to Mr. S. R. Usmani, Director General Monitoring, Planning Commission of Pakistan. Dr. Awais Ahmed Khan, the Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) of the project, was also present during the presentation held and PPMI Head Office, Islamabad.
During the presentation, Dr. Kamran Saleem
provided a comprehensive overview of the project’s objectives and achievements
to date. The evaluation committee members expressed their appreciation for the
innovative research and development work carried out at SRC-UCP. Following
their review, the committee approved the release of the second tranche of
funds, ensuring continued progress for the initiative.
The project focus on the design and
development of student satellite kits tailored for school, college, and
university-level students. These kits aim to:
Promote hands-on STEM education.
Foster interest in space technology.
Introduce students to CanSAT systems,
enabling practical learning and experimentation.
By engaging students with real-world
applications of engineering and satellite technology, the project aspires to
inspire the next generation of innovators and scientists.
This initiative underscores SRC-UCP’s
commitment to advancing space research and education in Pakistan. With strong
support from government bodies and dedicated leadership, the project is poised
to create a ripple effect, cultivating a culture of innovation and curiosity
among students.
