Space Research Center (SRC-UCP) Shines at NAMAL Tech Expo 2025
On April 14, 2025, a team of students and researchers from the Space Research Center (SRC-UCP) proudly represented the University of Central Punjab (UCP) at the NAMAL Tech Expo, held at NAMAL University, Mianwali. The event gathered participants from over 21 universities across Pakistan, offering a vibrant platform for young innovators, researchers, and academic leaders to showcase their cutting-edge projects.
Led by Dr. M. Kamran Saleem (Associate
Professor, UCP), the SRC-UCP delegation presented a series of impressive
student-built satellite models, including CanSAT, CubeSAT, and FloatSAT. These
satellite models are part of ongoing student research and innovation at
SRC-UCP, designed to simulate real-world space missions and provide hands-on
experience in satellite technology and space systems engineering.
The UCP showcase attracted considerable
attention, with visitors and participants from academic and research
institutions showing great interest in the technological potential and
ingenuity displayed. Many attendees were particularly impressed by the level of
sophistication achieved by undergraduate students, and the initiative was
widely praised as a benchmark for other institutions.
As part of the expo, the SRC-UCP team also
delivered a brief yet insightful presentation to NAMAL University faculty
members, highlighting ongoing research initiatives and future projects under
development at UCP. This session sparked productive conversations and exchange
of ideas, with both institutions identifying possible areas for collaboration
and mutual benefit in the field of space and satellite technology.
Beyond the exhibition, the two-day visit
offered valuable opportunities for academic networking and cross-institutional
engagement. The hospitality extended by the NAMAL University team made the
experience even more memorable. The UCP team would like to extend special
thanks to Dr. Sajjad ur Rehman (Registrar, NAMAL University), as well as the
esteemed faculty and staff, for their warm welcome, excellent arrangements, and
generous support throughout the visit.
This successful participation marks another
proud milestone for the Space Research Center at UCP, reaffirming its
commitment to fostering innovation, research excellence, and meaningful
collaboration within the academic community.
