The Institute of Space Technology (IST) in Islamabad recently hosted the International Conference on Aerospace Science & Engineering (ICASE-2021), an event that brought together distinguished experts and innovators in the field of space technology. Among the participants, the Space Research Center at the University of Central Punjab (SRC-UCP) stood out for its exceptional contributions and engagement.
Under the visionary leadership of Dr. Najam Abbas Naqvi,
Chairman of the National Center for Global Space and Advance Research (NCGSA),
SRC-UCP made significant strides. Dr. M. Kamran Saleem, a prominent figure at
SRC-UCP, was honored as a Keynote Speaker and delivered an illuminating
discourse on the innovative concept of Floating Satellites (FloatSAT).
The FloatSAT project, a collaborative effort between SRC-UCP
and the University of Wurzburg in Germany, marked a significant accomplishment
for the center. Their successful in-house design and development of the
FloatSAT at UCP showcased their ability in practical application within the
realm of space technology.
One of the highlights of ICASE-2021 was the esteemed
presence of the President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, who took the time to
visit the stall set up by SRC-UCP. His encouragement and appreciation of the
team's ongoing research and educational endeavors in space technology further
validated their commitment and dedication.
The conference proved to be a melting pot of connections and
collaborations. The SRC-UCP team utilized this platform to foster both
international and national linkages, paving the way for future advancements in
the field. Dr. Alim Rustem from Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Turkey,
was among the notable visitors to SRC-UCP's stall. His recognition and
admiration for the team's remarkable work added to the validation of their
efforts. The discussions on ongoing projects like CanSAT and CubeSAT further cemented
