The Space Research Center (SRC) at the University of Central Punjab (UCP) , in collaboration with RESOLVE and the National Space Agency SUPARCO , successfully organized an insightful seminar titled “SPACE4ALL: Inspiring the Next Generation of Engineers”. The event aimed to spark curiosity and passion for space technology among students and aspiring engineers. The seminar was dedicated to Electro Optical (EO-1) satellite Team - SUPARCO. Dr. M. Kamran Saleem from UCP, along with his team of young engineers, presented various student-developed satellite prototypes, including CanSat, CubeSat, and FloatSat. First Satellite Image Captured by SRC-UCP: A Milestone Achievement

 We are excited to share a major breakthrough at the Space Research Center (SRC-UCP), University of Central Punjab, Lahore. After months of dedicated effort, our team has successfully captured its first satellite image from a NOAA weather satellite . Since June 2024, researchers at SRC-UCP have been diligently working on designing and developing a custom satellite ground station. This achievement is a testament to their expertise and commitment. The success was made possible by creating specialized VHF antenna systems optimized for satellite signal reception. These include innovative designs such as cross-dipole, V, inverted V, and quadrifilar helix antennas. A software-defined radio (SDR) integrated with GNU Radio served as the receiver, allowing us to decode satellite signals into the stunning image attached below. Inspiring the Next Generation: Student Satellite Project Presented at Planning Commission, Pakistan.

 Dr. M. Kamran Saleem, Founder of the Space Research Center (SRC-UCP) and the principal investigator of the student satellite project funded by the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Pakistan , recently showcased significant progress in a presentation to Mr. S. R. Usmani, Director General Monitoring , Planning Commission of Pakistan. Dr. Awais Ahmed Khan, the Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) of the project, was also present during the presentation held and PPMI Head Office, Islamabad. During the presentation, Dr. Kamran Saleem provided a comprehensive overview of the project’s objectives and achievements to date. The evaluation committee members expressed their appreciation for the innovative research and development work carried out at SRC-UCP.
