Research Collaboration Initiative Between Space Research Center (SRC-UCP) and RESOLVE.

This initiative brought together key figures from the Space Research Center (SRC) at the University of Central Punjab (UCP) and Research Solutions & Ventures (RESOLVE) . First Satellite Image Captured by SRC-UCP: A Milestone Achievement

 We are excited to share a major breakthrough at the Space Research Center (SRC-UCP), University of Central Punjab, Lahore. After months of dedicated effort, our team has successfully captured its first satellite image from a NOAA weather satellite . Since June 2024, researchers at SRC-UCP have been diligently working on designing and developing a custom satellite ground station. This achievement is a testament to their expertise and commitment. The success was made possible by creating specialized VHF antenna systems optimized for satellite signal reception. These include innovative designs such as cross-dipole, V, inverted V, and quadrifilar helix antennas. A software-defined radio (SDR) integrated with GNU Radio served as the receiver, allowing us to decode satellite signals into the stunning image attached below.
